#YachtBounce is at it again, with the @DJQuickieMart original Bounce remix of the classic jam “What A Night”. DJ @Tony5kratchere, DJ @EFCuttin, @Impulss, DJ Quickie Mart, and more have been crafting Bounce remixing out of songs from Toto, Duran Duran, and other classic “Yacht Rock” songs.

Started by New Orleans DJ Tony Skratchere, he describes its inception this way,

“Basically it came about from my love of the Yacht Rock youtube vids.” … “For 6 months I did nothing with the idea. Until one day I started making a list of the songs while I rewatched the youtube vids. I made the “Africa” remix in like 45 minutes and floated it out. People responded favorably and I went ahead and made more.” 

 While Tony started the ball rolling, other DJ’s have started adding to the new sub-genre which he thinks is just fine.

“I tell people that its an “Open-Source” genre. Any and everyone is welcome to submit their own remixes. In all honesty, some of the stuff that’s been put out under the yachtbounce blanket stray too far away from “smooth”, which is part of the appeal to me. But w/e, I’m not mad at anyone for contributing”

“The beauty of yachtbounce is that while some folks might not get the joke, its still light, fun, and harmless.”
